Our workshops are designed to provide expectant parents with peace of mind by giving you all the necessary information to ensure you and your baby are happy and healthy.  Detailed below is the list of workshops currently offered at our Midwifery Clinic.

Early Days as a New Parent 

This workshop looks to equip you with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to care for your newborn baby.

This workshop covers key issues relating to the changes that occur to your body post-pregnancy, care of your postnatal body, care of stitches or wounds, the important of postnatal exercise, the baby blues, mental health and emotions and much more.

Infant Feeding 

This workshop aims to give you all the information and skills you may need to get breastfeeding off to a good start.

The workshop gives you a snapshot of what to expect in the first few days and weeks and discussing the benefits of breastfeeding for both Mums and Babies. This workshop also covers how breastfeeding works and how to cope with some natural challenges by providing you with practical solutions.

Pelvic Floor Workshop

This workshop highlights the importance of the pelvic floor and provides practical exercise sessions.

This workshop will provide information on the importance and structure of the pelvic floor and will provide practical exercise sessions, which can help minimise the effects of incontinence, focusing strongly on Kegel exercises.

Care of a Newborn

This workshop will provide you with essential knowledge and practical skills relating to your chosen method of feeding for your newborn baby.

The workshop covers vital issues relating to you and the health of your newborn baby.  Participants can expect to learn about essential skills such as how to top and tail, how to tell your baby’s temperature, getting to know your baby, nappy changing, the importance of tummy time and much more.

Post-Natal Mental Health

This workshop aims to work with expectant parents, providing them with important information concerning postnatal mental health and what to expect.

Participants can expect to come away with key knowledge concerning postnatal depression and how to get help, some common causes of the baby blues and where to get help if you are struggling with mental health concerns.
